Ghana is a haven that combines the charms of a tropical beach idyll with a fascinating historical heritage, rich cultural variety, and some interesting wildlife in the national parks and forests. Ghana Cedi (GHS) is the currency used in Ghana although some items or services are billed in USD, you can always pay the cedi equivalent. More than 250 languages and dialects are spoken in Ghana. English is the country’s official language and predominates government and business affairs. It is also the standard language used for educational instruction.

Accra

Accra is the capital of Ghana, on the Atlantic coast of West Africa. It is a vibrant city, with good beaches, excellent nightlife, colourful markets and inspirational art galleries there is plenty to see and do to suit everyone’s tastes.

Weather: February is the hottest month in Accra with an average temperature of 28°C (82°F) and the coldest is August at24°C (75°F)

Labadi Beach

Labadi Beach or more properly known as La Pleasure Beach is the busiest beach on Ghana’s coast. It is one of Accra’s beautiful beaches and is maintained by the local hotels.

Weather: Labadi Beach sea water temperatures peak in the range 28 to 30°C (82 to 86°F) on around the 5th of May and are at their coldest on about the 2nd of August, in the range 22 to 26°C (72 to 79°F). Year round warm sea water temperatures at Labadi Beach climb to their warmest at the beginning of May.

Jamestown

Located directly east of the Korle Lagoon, Jamestown and Usshertown are the oldest districts in the city of Accra. It boasts a fascinating history and vibrant local community.

Weather: Average Weather in January in Jamestown Ghana. Daily high temperatures are around 89°F, rarely falling below 87°F or exceeding 92°F. Daily low temperatures are around77°F, rarely falling below 74°F or exceeding 80°F. The lowest daily average low temperature is 77°F on January 12.

Cape Coast

Cape Coast is the capital of the Central Region, in southern Ghana. It’s known for its role in the transatlantic slave trade. It is an important focal point of pan-African history.

Weather: On average, the temperatures are always high. Most rainfall (rainy season) is seen in April, May, June, July and October. On average, the warmest month is March, the coolest month is August. June is the wettest month..December is the driest month.

Kakum National Park

Kakum National Park is on coast of southern Ghana, in West Africa. It protects an area of rainforest, home to endangered mammals such as forest elephants, bongo antelopes and primates like the Diana monkey.

Weather: Average daily temperatures range from 30°C (86°F) during the day to 24°C (75°F) at night with a relative humidity between 77 percent and 85 percent. In Kakum National Park, there is a bi-modal season rainy seasons: April through June and September through November.

Mole National Park

Mole National Park protects an area of savannah and forest in northern Ghana. It’s home to elephants, leopards and rare birds such as the white-backed vulture.
